saw this band once at the smell.
they were pretty good if you're into the whole very identifiably hipster-ish indie thing?
their music is pretty chill and the drummer is great.
def stop by this friday- a nice little friday kickoff.

BASSment party-TONIGHT @ 740 club

i haven't posted in...a while. ive been lazy as fuck this summer.

as the summer is coming to an end and school starting, whats better than leaving it with a sweat soaked basement party?

every friday night DISCOTHEQUE takes over downtown's 740 club for parties showcasing some of the best dj's around.

but tonight-the party is moving to the basement (making it extra sweaty, but extra fun)

i'll probably be there and if so-taking pictures that i'll put up

breakfast on skid row

main st. in downtown has changed sooo much over the years. with "shi-shi" lofts, little galleries, and high end pet shops, but again theres some old 1950's LA thrown into the mix.

the nickel diner was reopened by 3 women and restored into an amazing diner with a cute 50's feel, deeeeelish breakfast, and killer donuts.

seriously..the donuts are INCREDIBLE. i had the strawberry crumble..it was soo fucking good, but theyre supposed to be famous for their maple glazed bacon donut..which didnt sound so yummy to me.

go try it! its easy to get there by train too-just get off on the hill st. station and walk about 2 blocks up to main :)

so everybody knows the paseo...but did they know theres a legit jazz club in it?

pasadena jazz institute.

don't judge the stuffy name..this place is great.
super laid back vibe-everyone there is soo nice
with food, full bar, cheap drinks, pingpong?
and great jazz.

highlight of the neatly tucked away lounge is their monday night jam sessions that go well into
the am hours. (and rumored to be the best jam sesh in town)

its usually free to get in, but lately its been a measly $2.

anyone can sign up and go jam onstage..
vocals, guitar, piano, sax, clairinet, trumpet.
